A truly amazing restaurant. The only thing they serve is fried chicken with all the fixings but it is the best fried chicken within 200 miles. Worth the 2 hour drive for me to get there

The Brookville is an institution, and yes I miss the old place. Great Cole slaw, corn and gravy. More food than I can eat! Reservations suggested, the Brookville is very popular!

Brookville Hotel is a wonderful place to enjoy family style service. They serve fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw, biscuits, creamed corn, relish tray and ice cream for dessert. Delicious.

Pretty good, but slightly disappointed based on the hype. The chicken has a slightly odd flavor to me. Maybe the oil that they use?

Fantastic service. Traditional charm!

Brookville Hotel was amazing, as always. For all of you who have never been here, this is not actually a hotel, it's a restaurant. They don't have a menu, which doesn't detract at all from its charm. This place takes 'comfort food' to a whole new level. What you get is very fast, good, friendly service from beginning to end. Giant platters of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed corn, coleslaw, and biscuits. EVERYTHING is homemade, everything is delicious. You will not leave hungry. Everyone gets a small dish of ice cream for dessert. I can't tell you the price because I've never paid, I always go with my family for birthdays, anniversaries, etc etc. This place is great if you're looking for a delicious, yet comforting home-like meal.

Sadly, The Brookville Hotel food quality has gone down hill in recent years. The prices ate too high for the lack of quality. We used to get real mashed potatoes and homemade gravey with two vegetable options; Green beans or corn. The wait staff were all very polite and fast. I suggest you not go to Brookville if you are on a budget and can not eat breaded chicken or corn. The Restaurant is not what it used to be for a formal destination dinner. But being with family is always fun no matter where you dine.

A sumptuous meal in a comfortable setting, rich in history. The chicken is excellent, as are the cole slaw, whipped potatoes and gravy. Staff are charming and energetic. Well worth the drive from Manhattan. Highly recommended!

This place is kind of iconic. It is now located in Abilene, KS. But it started out in Brookville, KS. That is where I first started going there to eat fried chicken. If you go there, you will need to eat chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, creamed corn, home made biscuits. Your fat intake for the day will be off the charts so come prepared to eat a bunch as they will keep bringing out if you eat what they bring. Seemed expensive until I saw a big family with lots of kids chow down thru about 5 chickens at dinner. They lost money on those people. It has a very country feel when you are in the restaurant. Would recommend that you at least try it once. They have limited hours so check that before you just drop in. They do accept reservations.

Reminded me of going to my grandma's house for Sunday dinner. Grabbed three meals to go with all the trimmings. Each came with half a chicken, mashed potatoes and pan gravy, creamed corn, and their special cole slaw. Incredibly reasonable priced meal.

So. Much. Food. This place serves the crispiest, most flavorful fried chicken you'll ever have. Sides galore and homemade ice cream for dessert.

Always a pleasure to dine here, it's been a few decades for me, but it brought back childhood memories instantly for me.

Great food and atmosphere! Would have been nice to see a lower fat option such as baked chicken!

As Henry Ford once said, you can have a model T in any color... As long as it's Black. Same goes here .Family dining, plenty of food great taste. Come hungry and leave happy.

Great place to sit down and enjoy a 5 star meal service family style. A must stop for anyone coming thru.

Stopped here while driving across the state. They only serve a chicken dinner, (chicken, mash potatoes, creamed corn, biscuits, gravy plus a few other sides) and it was roughly $20 or just below per person. It was served family style. The food was pretty good but if you don't like everything served it might not be worth it. The actual building was interesting but it wasn't the original. Would probably not stop here again as I'm not the biggest fan of meat on the bone but it was a local experience and many people were dining there so it's just preference.

If you are hungry in Abilene I highly suggest the family style dinner at the Brookville Hotel.

This has been the gold standard of family style chicken dinners for over 100 years. It's not a hotel, it's a restaurant that specializes in cooking chicken like our grand parents used to serve. Great history behind the restaurant too. Well worth the time to visit.
Jerry Carpenter
Wonderful fried chicken! Cole slaw was very good.... yummy mashed potatoes & gravy. The rolls were excellent. Very friendly staff & waitresses. Family style serving. 1/2 chicken each serving!

Lovely place to eat family style chicken which is the only choice. Makes decisions easy about what to eat. Food was very good.

The only thing you order is your beverage. In a couple of minutes you get a relish plate with dill pickle slices, sliced pickled apple, peaches, and Cole slaw. And the the main course: one whole fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed corn, and biscuits served family style. For dessert, homemade vanilla ice cream. Bring your appetite! Service is fast and friendly. Reservations are recommended as this place is deservedly popular.

Amazing! That one word describes the Brookville Hotel. The atmosphere and the people who work there are amazing! The food is amazing! Their chicken is some of the best in the world!!! They serve their food family style. Included is Relishes, Sweet-Sour Cole-Slaw (Family Pennsylvania Recipe), One-half Skillet of Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes w/ Cream Gravy, Cream-Style Corn, Baking Powder Biscuits with creamy butter and preserves, and Home Style Ice Cream. Tea, Coffee, Soda or Milk is included. Their fixings are as good as their chicken! It's a different type of cole slaw than what I'm accustomed to, but I like it! Amazing!!!

My wife and I had a wonderful time with my Mum and Dad. I especially like that everything is served family style. This is a great Southern style hotel and restaurant. You owe it to yourself to stop on by.

Loved it! My family and I went there for x mas dinner. It was beautifully decorated, all of the food was delicious, excellent service checked on us often but not to often and always with a smile. Lots to look at neat nice gifts to buy. Rooms upstairs were also very interesting and pleasant to look at. Only thing missing on that day was the x mas tree. Thank u for such a calm, relaxing , pleasant yet not boring time. 😎

A must stop for all fried chicken lovers. Their side dishes of creamed corn and coleslaw are wonderful. Warning- they only serve fried chicken family style. We always try to eat there on our trips to Colorado.
Tommy Snow
Super great food worth the trip. Staff was so nice place was spotless. Definitely a must see!!!
Austin Peyton
It’s overhyped. I’ve had much better chicken before and the sides are just average. However, the atmosphere/presentation is unique and it has very good service. Only go here if you happen to be going by. Otherwise not worth the drive.
Tonya Welch
Always enjoy eating here. It has been our family favorite, even before they moved to Abilene. I'm glad we are able to still enjoy the amazing fried chicken.
Amanda Hubbard
This was our second trip and a must stop in Abilene. Delicious food, friendly staff, history!
Stuart Quackenbush
These folks really know fried chicken. It is amazing. The staff is always friendly and they provide an excellent environment. They even let us in early one day as were were traveling through just before lunch service began.

The BEST fried chicken and very friendly staff! A must stop if you're passing through the area.
